I don't really know, but some 200 people a month download it... I know
more or less a 100 people using it, maily customersof mine.
Will it be supported in the future?
Absolutely yes. Many of my applications and personal tools depends on this
and I'm seriously determined to continue using it.
How stable is TkSql?
TkSql is actively used in some production environment w/ PostgreSQL 7.0,
7.1 and 7.2, people are connecting via Linux and Windows systems. No
problems are detected.
Problems may occur in the installation phase as I only try it under some
circumstances where I developed it. I'm willing to improve also the
installation process if I get feed back.
So, why you say that you have a development branch?
The development branch was introduced with queries and refers to the fact
that I have not decided if the present features are all the features needed
or if the tables where I store them should have some more columns. I would
appreciate the feedback from users.
Which kind of documentation is available?
There are quite a lot of different documents.
A web site, with lot of explained screenshots
A manual page with explanation of syntax and format of end user's staff
Some README in the doc directory, mainly thought for developers
I miss on line documentation, thought...
Which are the plus of TkSql in your opinion?
I think TkSql is great w/ filtering and queries. It enbodies features that
are not so common among databases' GUI like the ability to create totals
and subtotals.
Which are the defects?
It lacks any support for the creation of tables (you can use pgAccess for
that) and at the moment it has no support for localization?
How can we help?
Please, try it out, and tell me if you meet any problems, or if you
like/dislike something. And fill in the form i prepared. Thanks.
